Groundwater Science-Policy Workshop Features Solutionscapes Researchers

From November 12-14, 2025, the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Centre hosted the Groundwater at the Science-Policy Interface Workshop at the University of Guelph, a forum focused on groundwater management across agriculture, municipal water supply, and community health.

As part of a Policy and Practice session on November 13, Solutionscapes team members from the University of Waterloo contributed perspectives. Dr. Nandita Basu, Professor and Canada Research Chair, provided a scientific perspective in a presentation titled Groundwater Quality and Agriculture. Dr. Dustin Garrick, Associate Professor and University Research Chair, examined broader decision-making contexts in a presentation titled Groundwater Policy and Economics. Together, their contributions addressed scientific and policy considerations related to groundwater decision-making. The session reflected the range of perspectives engaged in groundwater management across science, policy, and practice.
