Emily Ury, Postdoctoral Fellow, Environmental Defense Fund
Emily is a Cooley Postdoctoral Science Fellow at the Environmental Defense Fund.
She is a a biogeochemist and landscape ecologist investigating the effects of global change on wetlands and the role of wetlands as solutions to environmental problems. Emily uses a combination of empirical methods and spatial modelling to understand how landscapes are changing and what the consequences are for ecosystems and people.

Wei Zhi, Professor, Hohai University
Wei is currently a Professor at Hohai University in Nanjing, China. He is interested in understanding how water moves and interacts with other components in natural environments. His research specializes in hydro-biogeochemistry and watershed modeling, including process-based reactive transport models and data-driven deep learning models. His recent work focuses on developing continental-scale deep-learning models for understanding the impacts of climate change and land use on water quality and nutrient dynamics.
-

Laura Klein, Project Manager, University of Waterloo
Laura was a Project Manager for the Global Water Sustainability and Ecohydrology Lab (Basu Lab) at the University of Waterloo. Laura managed deliverables, budgets, and stakeholder relationships for the Solutionscapes project.
-

Nettie Wallace, Master's Student, University of Waterloo
Nettie Wallace was a Master’s researcher at the University of Waterloo. She investigated the impacts of land-applied manure and digestate (from anaerobic digesters) on water quality and greenhouse gas emissions.
-

Kushank Bajaj, PhD Student, University of British Columbia
Kushank was a PhD researcher at the Institute for Resource, Environment and Sustainability of the University of British Columbia. He used data science to answer questions about sustainable food systems and climate change. Kushank developed large datasets on farm experiments and statistical models tailored to agriculture solutions.
